We Endorse Clinton Rarey for District 1 (East Side)
Get out and vote for Clinton, an impressive Austinite, military veteran and small business owner running to improve life for East Austin residents.
“Serving with people that had different faiths, beliefs, and values in the military taught me grace at a very young age. Even though you may not agree with everyone all the time you understand to complete the mission you must work together. I am honored to have the support of Save Austin Now for exactly that reason. People within the Austin community are coming together despite their political differences to get the mission done.”

Why We’re For Clinton
“Clinton Rarey is the best choice for City Council for District 1 residents who are fed up with rising crime and out-of-control homelessness in East Austin,” said Save Austin Now PAC co-founders Matt Mackowiak and Cleo Petricek. “Natasha Harper-Madison has been ignoring the needs of this district for two years. District 1 deserves a Council Member who will work hard, listen to concerns, work to solve problems, and always put the district first. Natasha voted to cut the police budget by $150 million, voted to pass the homeless camping ordinance and opposed Prop B, and recently voted to increase her own pay by 40% to $116,000. We can do better. Clinton Rarey is thoughtful, impassioned, and reasonable. We ask all Save Austin Now supporters to join us in supporting Clinton Rarey for City Council.”
“It’s time to put communication back into the community,” said Rarey. “Sometimes that means listening with both ears and keeping your mouth shut as a leader. Serving with people that had different faiths, beliefs, and values in the military taught me grace at a very young age. Even though you may not agree with everyone all the time you understand to complete the mission you must work together. I am honored to have the support of Save Austin Now for exactly that reason.
